3 Low Rotation

3 Low Rotation

About 3 Low Rotation:

3 Low Rotation is a variation of 3 Low, the only difference between the two is that instead of keeping the center at the top and the forward on the blocks, they rotate with eachother. This creates more confusion for the defense which in turn gets the man on the block more open jumpshots. This play requires that players dribble around the court as quickly as possible, to ensure maximum dribbling speed every player needs a basketball that is full of air. Setup:

The setup of 3 Low rotation is the exact same as 3 Low. The main ball handler (1) is at the top of the court in the middle with the ball. The other guard (2) is in one corner behind the three point line.  One of the forwards (3) is at the same spot on the other side of the floor. The remaining forward (4) is on the block opposite of the ball, and the center (5) is in the middle of the court between the three point line and the free throw line.

Running the Play:
To run 3 Low Rotation, the ball handler must dribble off of the center's screen to one side and pass the ball to the man in the corner. The center must then drop to the block and the forward on the block must go up and fill in the centers spot. Then the guard with the ball must dribble to the other side and the process will repeat again with the forward and center changing spots every time the ball is in the corner.
